Monitor M33's
aft gun is the last remaining piece of ordinance surviving from the Battle
of Jutland.
Admiral Horatio
Nelson paid from his own purse for the Mediterranean Fleet to be painted
in the distinctive ochre and black colours, as a measure to help prevent

Admiralty immediately adopted the scheme for the entire fleet.
